I am a Ofsted & Trio Network registered Childminder providing quality childcare for children, in and around Carterton, Oxfordshire, UK.
Dissisit Daycare has now been running since September 2010 and was recently awarded Outstanding by OFSTED.
I provide a fun and stimulating environment while following the revised Early Years Foundation Stage standards. Children in my care are encouraged to to grow in an environment where they can enjoy themselves and be safe. Each child should be given the opportunity to develop and experience a variety of activities, both indoors and outdoors.
So a little background information on me.
Along with my husband, Gary, we have two children, Owen and Gabby. Our family also includes 2 pets. A small Jack Russell named Chewie, who adores children and has an extremely good temperament, and a cat, Cleo, who as most felines, rarely seems to be awake or around the house during the day.
My roots have always been in child care. My Mom ran her own Day Care in South Africa when I was growing up, and so after school would help her with activities. During my teen years I enjoyed baby sitting toddlers which helped me with some extra pocket money.
When I completed high school, I started working at Maranatha Christian School in Kempton Park, South Africa, as a teacher's assistant for 2,5 years before moving to the UK in 1999. In the following years, Owen and Gabby were born and in 2006, I volunteered as a teacher's assistant at Carterton Primary School, where I helped in the nursery Group and later that year 3's and 4's.
So in August of 2010, I founded Dissisit Day Care. The name coming from my family name "Diss", with a bit of a play on words, and so the rest is history ...
